Silent Hunter V to kolejna ods³ona jednego z najpopularniejszych drugowojennych symulatorów okrêtów podwodnych. W pi±tej czê¶ci twórcy wysy³aj± nas na wody Oceanu Atlantyckiego oraz Morza ¦ródziemnego, gdzie jako dowódca niemieckiego U-boota polujemy na jednostki p³ywaj±ce Aliantów. Do przej¶cia czeka dynamiczna kampania, co oznacza, ¿e na nasze dzia³ania, sukcesy i niepowodzenia, maj± bezpo¶redni wp³yw na jej przebieg. Warto dodaæ, ¿e w czasie jej trwania bierzemy tak¿e udzia³ w s³ynnych, historycznych bitwach morskich.
Jedn± z g³ównych innowacji wprowadzonych w tej czê¶ci cyklu jest w pe³ni interaktywne wnêtrze okrêtu podwodnego. Nie skaczemy ju¿ po ekranach ro¿nych sekcji okrêtu (np. sonar, radio, peryskop etc), lecz mo¿emy w czasie rzeczywistym poruszaæ siê po nim niczym w grze FPP. Wi±¿e siê z tym równie¿ wprowadzenie nowego systemu dowodzenia, w którym to wydajemy rozkazy bezpo¶rednio cz³onkom za³ogi, a nie tylko obs³ugujemy poszczególne przyrz±dy. Wp³ywa to na lepsze odwzorowanie ³añcucha dowodzenia ale i wiêksz± immersjê akcji (wydaj±c rozkaz za³adowania torped pierwszemu oficerowi widzimy jak przekazuje go przez interkom do przedzia³u torpedowego, gdzie marynarze w pospiechu wykonuj± polecenie). Oczywi¶cie dla weteranów serii pozostawiono tak¿e stare rozwi±zanie dowodzenia okrêtem podwodnym, do wyboru.
Nowink± jest równie¿ system morale za³ogi. Ka¿de nasze polecenie powoduje jego nieznaczny spadek, wiêc aby okrêt pozostawa³ w pe³ni sprawny musimy uzupe³niaæ morale poprzez skuteczne ataki torpedowe, czy pozytywne wype³nianie celów misji. Ponadto gra oferuje mechanizm rozwoju za³ogi. Weterani serii powinni natomiast skorzystaæ z opcji eksperckiej, oferuj±cej zabawê na zdecydowanie wy¿szym poziomie trudno¶ci.
